4 Pumpkin Decorating Ideas
Fallin’ For Fall
The crisp air and leaves on the ground remind us that the season has changed, and fall fashion is the only thing that makes this acceptable in our books! There is nothing better then cozy knee high socks with boots and oversized scarfs to keep us feeling warm and looking good! As the clothes in our wardrobes change, our home decor must too. There are so many ways to decorate your home in a tasteful, festive and fall fashion manner. Pumpkins, gourds, fall foliage, and pinecones are a handful of popular themes that can serve as inspiration. You can mix all of these elements together across your mantle or you can stagger them artfully down your front porch.
Check out some of our Pumpkin Decorating Ideas and Fall Inspiration.
1. Rustic Heirloom Pumpkin & Pear Centerpiece
Lay a linen table runner or any table runner with a vintage vibe along the middle of your table. Walk around your neighborhood with some scissors and cut some branches from a pear tree, apple tree or even fresh eucalyptus from your local florist. Braid the greens down the length of the table runner, this doesn’t need to look perfect. Place the heirloom pumpkins (found at your local famers market) on the greens, mixed with some pears or green apples to give it some depth. The more misshapen and unsightly the pumpkin the better, we want this to look as rustic and carefree as possible.
2. Pumpkin Votives
There’s more than one way to use pumpkins for your fall decor! Make sure you give them an apple cider vinegar bath before cutting into them. About half a cup for every couple of gallons of water in the sink is enough to help kill bacteria on the surface to preserve them. If you’re handy with a drill, or even have one, use it to drill a hole in the center of the pumpkin and insert a tea light or regular candle. You can even use the battery-operated tealights.
3. Some call it a séance; we call it ambiance!
Warm the mood and set the ambiance! Try grouping real or battery-operated flameless candles in an empty fireplace using an assortment of candles; tall to short. Stagger them across the width of the fireplace giving an inch or two in space. If you don’t have a fireplace, you can get the same look along your mantle or down the middle of your kitchen island because these Pumpkin Decorating Ideas cannot be missed.
4. Orange is so yesterday!
White pumpkins, once a novelty, are becoming increasingly common. These intriguing white orbs are all the rage when it comes to chic autumn decorating. We love the minis intertwined with twinkle lights.
